My name is Marwin Silerio and I’ve been working as a Personal Trainer in Auckland, New Zealand since 2016. During that time I’ve helped busy, everyday Kiwi’s better their health and manage their stress and lifestyle through strength training.

I created RISE with the intention to provide a platform that encompasses the lifestyle of the ambitious, health conscious and driven professional. I wanted to show people like yourself how you can manage your health and wellbeing without taking time away from what you deemed important in your fast-paced life- like your family, business, relationships, work and adventure.

Instead, I wanted to share with you that you can actually save time by prioritising your health. That by actioning the tools given through this platform you could increase the quality of your work, productivity, mental clarity and overall strength.

I understand this sets the expectations very high.

That’s why I’ve partnered with experts in health & self-development to help me build this platform - we create educational and entertaining shows that cover mental health, personal development, nutrition, supplements, strength training, time management and so much more.

We are also a growing team of Personal Trainers and Health Coaches that give the structure, accountability and encouragement to help busy people make the sustainable and powerful lifestyle change required to help you show up as the best version of yourself.

This platform is continuously growing and I am so happy to have you here to join us.

RISE. Make Life Work Out.

Physiotherapist, Health Coach and Content Producer

Having always lived a relatively active lifestyle, the positive benefits that come with physical activity and how this translates to other aspects of one’s life, has always been somewhat apparent to me.

However, in working within the fitness industry for almost a decade now I have seen how often there is a lack of awareness and connection between our physical, mental, intellectual and emotional wellbeing, which I feel truly limits the potential of the application of one’s training.

In my years of study and working clinically, I’ve learned that the cornerstone underpinning most of our success, whether it be in the gym, at work or at home, is the need for structure and accountability. The need to be meticulous of what you are doing, how you are doing it, and why you are doing it. Too much, too often, too soon will likely result in an injury or burnout, yet too little, too seldom, can result in a plethora of undesirable conditions that will often present themselves later in life.

This deep knowledge and passion for holistic health is what I love to share with others to help enlighten and educate them on the connection between the physical and mental, connecting the what to the how and the why, so they can understand their body and self more, ultimately getting the most out of it in all aspects of life. I believe that it is within this sweet spot of overlap where functioning at a high level becomes the default.

My name is Charlotte Connell (aka Dr Char) and I’m a Research Scientist with a passion for science communication. You will find me on Rise Optimise where we discuss science concepts that can be used to optimise your health.

I hold a PhD in Exercise Sciences where I specialised in fatigue, the brain, ergogenic aids, and exercise performance.

As a researcher I’ve had the chance to deep dive into several disciplines and see how they intersect with exercise sciences. Some of these have included visual neuroscience, behavioural science and data science. When I’m not on Rise Optimise you’ll find me working on my research at the University of Auckland.
